Roger Saunders, renowned Boston hotelier and Skalleague, passes away at 93
Boston Skalleagues: Regretfully, if you have not yet heard, I wanted to inform you of the loss of a beloved Skalleague. One of our destinations most renowned hoteliers, Roger Saunders, passed away this past Friday. Among a myriad of accomplishments including leading teams at many of Boston’s great hotels, Roger was President of Skal Boston in 1978. Roger formerly served as president and chairman of the American Hotel and Motel Association (now the American Hotel and Lodging Association). He also had been president of the Massachusetts Lodging Association and its preceding organizations. In 2005, he was among the Massachusetts association’s inaugural Hall of Fame honorees.
